As a result of hostile shelling of the port infrastructure in the city of Kilia, Odesa region, on January 29, a large-scale fire broke out in production workshops over an area of 4,800 square meters.

This was reported by the press service of the State Ecological Inspectorate of the Southwestern District.

The fire released nearly 400 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The damage amounted to UAH 1.2 million. The information was forwarded to the Operational Headquarters of the State Ecological Inspectorate of Ukraine to be included in the register of environmental damage caused by armed aggression.

The day before, on January 28, Russians attacked Odesa with kamikaze drones.

Three people were injured in the attack, and another person was rescued from a blocked apartment. The blast wave shattered windows in many buildings. City services worked all day to eliminate the consequences of the attack. An operational headquarters was set up in the city.

However, the enemy attacked not only with drones but also with a missile. Ukrainian air defense destroyed the missile, but the wreckage of the downed drones damaged four residential high-rises and five country houses.

Also, 10 cars caught fire in the yard of one of the residential buildings. In addition, the Russian attack damaged a grain warehouse. Four people were injured in the attack. A 91-year-old man was hospitalized, while the other victims were treated on the spot.
