Russian Attacks in Kherson: 3 Dead, 9 Injured in March 8 Assault

On March 8, Russian troops damaged a multi-storey building and 18 private houses. Three people died and nine others were injured as a result of Russian aggression.

According to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, the Russian military hit critical and social infrastructure; residential areas of the region's settlements, in particular, they damaged a multi-storey building and 18 private houses. The occupants also damaged a garage and private cars. Antonivka, Naddnipryanske, Bilozerka, Novodmitrivka, Stanislav, Shyroka Balka, Tomyna Balka, Sofiyivka, Mykilske, Beryslav, Vysoke, Novovorontsovka, Dudchany, Zmiivka, Kozatske, Sadove, Molodizhne, and Inzhenerne came under enemy fire and air strikes, Prydniprovske, Burgunka, Zolota Balka, Novoraysk, Bila Krynytsia, Veletynske, Vesele, Virivka, Ivanivka, Kachkarivka, Kizomys, Komyshany, Mykolaivka, Monastyrske, Novooleksandrivka, Olgivka, Osokorivka, Poniativka, Rozlyv, Tokarivka, Tyahyntsi, and the city of Kherson.

During the day, the Russian army shelled the Dniprovsky district of Kherson with artillery . A couple was injured in the shelling. An 86-year-old woman and an 82-year-old man were diagnosed with explosive and craniocerebral injuries, contusions, and shrapnel wounds. A resident of Kherson, who was hit by a Russian drone, was also taken to the hospital in serious condition. As a result of the explosion, the 74-year-old man sustained a mine-blast injury and traumatic amputation of his leg.

Later, Prokudin said that the Russian occupation army killed a resident of Kherson region. At about 8:40 a.m. in Naddnipryanske, the enemy attacked a civilian car, dropping explosives on it from a UAV. A 54-year-old man was fatally wounded.

Around 13:30, the occupants shelled Bilozerka. A local resident was injured as a result of the shelling. He was in his house at the time of the attack. The 50-year-old man sustained an explosive injury and a shrapnel wound to his thigh. A local resident was hit by an enemy drone in Antonivka . The 39-year-old man was taken to hospital in serious condition. He was diagnosed with mine-blast trauma, shrapnel wounds to his leg and a fractured tibia.

In addition, the Russian military continues to"hunt" civilians with drones. A 50-year-old resident of Kherson was injured as a result of an explosive drop from a UAV. He sustained a mine-blast trauma, shrapnel wounds to his shin and chest. His condition is of moderate severity. A man was injured in the Dniprovsky district of Kherson as a result of a Russian drone attack. The 64-year-old resident, on whom the occupiers dropped explosives, sustained a mine-blast trauma, shrapnel wounds to his legs, and a fracture of the bones of his shin and foot.

A local resident also died in Antonivka as a result of a Russian drone attack. At about 17:30, the occupiers dropped explosives from a UAV on a 74-year-old man. Unfortunately, he sustained injuries incompatible with life. In Zmiivka, an elderly man was injured in Russian shelling. The 75-year-old resident sustained mine-blast trauma and shrapnel wounds.

This year, in February, 13 residents of Kherson died as a result of Russian shelling, and another 113 people were injured of varying severity. In January 2025, 16 residents of Kherson were killed in enemy attacks, and another 154 residents were injured.
