Over the past week, an evacuation team from the Kakhovka District Police Department evacuated five local residents from the frontline town of Vesele who were wounded in Russian drone attacks.

According to the Kherson regional police, four men aged 42 to 62 and a 63-year-old woman were victims of another Russian attack.

"As a result of the drops from Russian drones, all the victims suffered contusions and explosive wounds of varying severity to their limbs and faces. The wounded needed urgent medical care, and the only chance to save them was a police evacuation team," the statement said.

Under constant shelling, police officers chose the safest possible time to go to pick up all the victims. Law enforcement officers carried two seriously wounded men on a stretcher to an armored vehicle. Fortunately, the other victims were able to move on their own and reach the car. During each evacuation, police officers provided first aid, psychologically calmed people down, and quickly took them to a safe place where medical teams were waiting for the wounded.

In January, while evacuating a sick 60-year-old resident of frontline Odradokamianka, a police armored vehicle hit an anti-personnel mine with its special protective equipment. Fortunately, no one in the vehicle was injured as a result of the explosion. Also, while transporting wounded civilians from Antonivka , patrol police officers in their official car hit an anti-personnel mine. A 32-year-old patrol policeman was injured. Before that, volunteers and representatives of the Kherson City Military Administration evacuated 47 people from Antonivka and other hotspots of the community. One of the volunteers was injured as a result of an explosive drop from an enemy drone. According to Roman Mrochko, the head of Kherson MCA, volunteers and MCA employees involved in the evacuation of people from under fire risk their own lives and lose their health to get those who ignored calls to evacuate until the last moment.
