On September 3 , the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, and the head of the Odesa Regional Council, Hryhoriy Didenko, met with the newly appointed Consul of the Republic of Poland in Odesa , Jacek Goclovski.
According to the press service of the Odesa Regional State Administration, the meeting discussed the key priorities for the development of our region, as well as existing problems that require the support of international partners.
"An important aspect of the conversation was the need to deepen existing interregional relations with Polish voivodeships and intensify activities to establish partnerships with new regions," the regional administration said.

Jacek Gocłowski was previously the Consul of the Republic of Poland in Kyiv, and is also known for defending his dissertation in the humanities (history of Ukraine) for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at Bohdan Khmelnytsky Cherkasy National University, becoming the first foreigner to defend his dissertation at this higher education institution. The topic of the work was "Agrarian History of Ukraine in the Nineteenth and First Half of the Twentieth Century in the Scientific Edition "Ukrainian Peasant".
The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Odesa is a diplomatic mission of Poland in Odesa opened in 2002. The consular district of the consulate, in addition to Odesa region, covers the territories of the following regions: Kherson region, Mykolaiv region, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol. Jacek Gocłowski is the eighth Polish Consul in Odesa in 22 years.
The consulate also operated in 1918-1919. The consuls of Poland in Odesa at that time were: Zenon Belina Brzozowski in 1918-1919, and Stanisław Srokowski in 1919.
There is also the Polish Embassy in Ukraine and consulates in Kharkiv, Lviv, Lutsk, and Vinnytsia.
