In Ivano-Frankivsk, nine collaborators who organized a pseudo-referendum in the occupied part of Kherson region were convicted. Among the convicts are the head and eight 'members of the election commission'.

This was reported by the Ivano-Frankivsk Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors proved that these individuals cooperated with the occupation authorities and organized illegal voting in the villages of Beryslav district on the accession of Kherson region to Russia. They arranged a so-called 'polling station' and made door-to-door visits accompanied by armed Russian military, distributing ballots to people.

For their activities, they were found guilty of collaboration under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court sentenced them to imprisonment for a term of 2 to 10 years. Eight of the nine convicts received actual prison terms. The head of the commission was convicted in absentia as she is hiding in the temporarily occupied territory. The pre-trial investigation in the case was conducted by the SBU Office in Ivano-Frankivsk region.

Law enforcement officers have completed an investigation into a deputy of the Kherson Regional Council who is accused of treason. According to the investigation, back in May 2022, while in the occupied territory of the Tavrychanska community of Kakhovka district, the 37-year-old deputy sided with the Russian invaders and began to actively cooperate with them. Having the status of a deputy, the man used his authority among local residents to spread pro-Russian propaganda.

Separately, the investigation established that the accused facilitated logistics for the Russian troops: he helped repair equipment, build defensive structures and supplied food to the occupiers. The indictment was sent to court.
