Oil spill occurs in the Kerch Strait

An accident on a RussianVolgoneft tanker caused an oil spill in the Kerch Strait.

According to Krym.Realii, this was reported by Rosmorrichflot.

"The accident resulted in a spill of oil products. Currently, measures are being taken to eliminate the spill of oil products by the Russian Maritime Service and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the operational headquarters established in Rostov-on-Don on the basis of the Azov Sea Fleet is in charge," the media quoted the occupation agency.

On Putin's instructions, rescue operations in the Kerch Strait are supposed to be organized and working groups are to be set up to deal with the consequences of the accident.

In addition, the publication reported that one of the sailors of the Russian tanker was killed, and the Investigative Committee of Russia reported that two criminal cases had been opened on the fact of violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of a marine vehicle. After the death of one crew member, one of the criminal cases was reclassified to a more serious charge.

Two tankers, Volgoneft 212 and Volgoneft 239, crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15. They had 13 and 14 crew members on board, respectively. During the accident, one of the tankers ran aground, while the other is adrift. Both tankers could have been carrying about 8,000 tons of oil products.

In early December, the Atesh guerrillas discovered that the damaged frigate Admiral Makarov, which is actively used for missile attacks on Ukraine, was being heavily guarded at the naval base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Novorossiysk.

Also, near the village of Chornomorske in the occupied Crimea, soldiers of the special unit of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine "Group 13" eliminated an enemy speedboat of the KC 701 project"Tunets" type. The occupants' vessel was hit with the help of MAGURA V5 maritime strike drone. In addition, three more invaders' boats were damaged. Their type is being identified.
