In Odesa region, a military man filed a lawsuit against his unit for refusing to pay compensation for unused vacation and other benefits. The man calculated that he suffered losses of about 700 thousand hryvnias due to the lack of accruals.
This is stated in the Unified Register of Court Decisions.
The lawsuit was filed with the Odesa District Administrative Court by a soldier who had been serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 2014. He demanded, among other things, compensation for unused vacation for 2022 in the amount of UAH 19,723, as well as a one-time financial assistance upon discharge from service, which should have been 4% of his monthly salary for each full calendar year of service.
The man calculated all the days when he worked without paid compensation, and as a result, the amount amounted to UAH 687 thousand, which he demanded to be reimbursed by his unit.
The court partially satisfied the military's claims. In particular, the action of the unit in failing to provide documents and failing to comply with the requirements for compensation for unused vacation days and financial assistance was recognized as unlawful. The unit was obliged to pay the soldier compensation for vacation in the amount of UAH 19,723, material assistance and a one-time financial assistance upon dismissal. The rest of the claim was dismissed.
Meanwhile, the Malynovskyi District Court of Odesa found the soldier guilty of falsely reporting a bomb threat to the court and sentenced him to 5 years and a month in prison.
The court also found a resident of Odesa guilty of setting fire to a church building in February 2024 and sentenced him to three years in prison.
Earlier, Intent wrote that the court ruled on the case of a serviceman who did not return to duty after a vacation. The soldier of the military unit was accused of unauthorized leaving the place of service.
