Frequent and prolonged air raids, during which students of Odesa schools have to stay in shelters, have led to the city's switching to a mixed learning format.

As explained by the Odesa City Hall, this format was proposed by the Odesa City Military Administration.

The city's schools and kindergartens were recommended to organize classes and groups on standby, and to conduct the main classes in synchronous or asynchronous mode.

At the same time, due to shelling and damage to energy facilities in the city, some schools are unable to organize high-quality training via video communication, so children will be sent tests to pass. Earlier, schools in the city shortened the school day by reducing the duration of lessons to 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, a residential area in the Peresypskyi district of Odesa, formerly known as Kotovsky's village, was left without electricity, water and heat supply as a result of the Russian attack on December 19. The shock wave damaged the glazing in a five-story residential building. One person was injured.

The day before, Russian troops attacked Odesa with attack drones, causing casualties. The strikes caused damage to residential buildings and social infrastructure. In Odesa district, enemy UAVs damaged windows in a nine-story residential building and an educational institution. No fires were reported after the attack. Seven people were injured. Medics treated six of them on the spot, and another person was hospitalized in moderate condition.

On the night of December 17, Russian troops carried out two waves of attacks that damaged a transport infrastructure facility. A fire broke out at the site of the attack, which was quickly extinguished by rescuers. No one was killed or injured.
