Odesa region ranks fifth in terms of the number of bankrupt companies

In 2025, 780 companies went bankrupt in Ukraine, 53 of them in Odesa region, nine in Mykolaiv region, and two in Kherson region.

According to analysts of the Opendatabot platform, Odesa region thus ranked fifth in the country.

Most bankruptcy proceedings against businesses are opened in Kyiv - 140 companies (18%). Almost the same number is in Zaporizhzhia region, which is near the frontline - 138 companies (17.7%). Kyiv region follows with 86 companies (11%) and Dnipropetrovs'k region with 85 (10.9%).

The 780 companies that went bankrupt account for about 10% of the total number of business closures. Most companies in Ukraine go through the procedure of self-termination - 60% of cases. A total of 8,191 companies going through a procedure related to the termination or change of business operations were recorded in Ukraine last year.

Most often, LLCs go bankrupt - 84% of cases in 2025. In only 48 cases, bankrupts try to stay afloat: to restore solvency and continue to operate through the rehabilitation procedure. However, this is less than 1% of cases.

Currently, owners are increasingly choosing preventive restructuring: 8 cases in 6 companies were opened in 2025. These are cases when a business starts restructuring before insolvency occurs, trying to avoid bankruptcy.

Most often, wholesale companies become bankrupt: 266 companies. Agriculture is in second place: 71 companies. This is followed by real estate operations - 53 companies, construction - 48 companies, and retail - 38 companies.

In 2025, Odesa region also ranked fourth in Ukraine in terms of the number of individual entrepreneurs who ceased operations.
