In 2025, Odesa region was ranked fourth in Ukraine in terms of the number of individual entrepreneurs who ceased operations.

The relevant calculations were published by analysts of the Opendatabot platform.

In total, 18,714 sole proprietorships closed in Odesa region in 11 months of 2025. For comparison, in Mykolaiv region - 7 thousand 473, and in Kherson - 3 thousand 758.

Analysts noted that a total of 250.2 thousand individual entrepreneurs have closed since the beginning of 2025 in Ukraine. The peak of closures occurred in January, when, after a month and a half break in the work of the registers, 59,723 entrepreneurs immediately documented the closure.

Every eighth entrepreneur who closed in 2025 worked in Kyiv: 32 thousand 469 individual entrepreneurs. Dnipropetrovs'k region is in second place, with 22,645 entrepreneurs ceasing operations last year. Small businesses in Kharkiv (20,481) and Lviv (16,521) regions closed by a small margin.

The most vulnerable last year were individual entrepreneurs working in retail - they accounted for a third of closures (77,705). On average, such businesses have been in business for less than 3 years. Another 16 thousand 909 sole proprietors in the wholesale trade sector ceased operations in 2025 - such entrepreneurs barely make it through the year. Overall, the trade niche alone accounts for almost half of the closures.

By a large margin, IT specialists were the second most frequently closed - 28,668, or every ninth entrepreneur who closed last year. By the way, IT specialists are also among the longest-lived entrepreneurs - 3 years and 11 months.

Sole proprietors engaged in warehousing are the longest-lived entrepreneurs in Ukraine, with over 6 years of experience. Real estate entrepreneurs have been operating for 5 years and 11 months. Businesses in the field of equipment repair, including household appliances, round out the top three: 5 years and 9 months.

But couriers are the least durable - only 6 months, on average, have been worked by entrepreneurs who closed in this area last year. Sole proprietors in the field of administrative and auxiliary office activities stay afloat for 9 months.
