On the eve of Christmas and New Year, Christmas trees are actively sold in every district of Odesa.

Intent inquired about the prices of this year's Christmas trees.

Thus, in Peresypskyi district, small folding trees are offered for UAH 150-200, larger ones for UAH 300, and wreaths for UAH 150-200. Medium-sized fir and pine trees, about a meter and a half, cost 2-3 thousand hryvnias. Near Novyi Rynok, prices for small trees are the same, but those over one and a half meters are not selling very well, so prices have been slightly reduced. An Intent correspondent was offered a nearly two-meter tree for 1.7 thousand hryvnias. Similar prices are on Derevyanka Square and Tribuna Heroiv Square.

Earlier, on December 17-18, specialists of the environmental control unit of the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Southwestern Region conducted a raid in Odesa to monitor compliance with the requirements of the current legislation during the sale of Christmas conifers. As a result, it was found that the sale of Christmas conifers is carried out in compliance with the law - no violations were found.

Christmas trees in Odesa began to be sold in the first decade of December, with prices ranging from 250-300 hryvnias to 5-7 thousand, depending on the size of the tree, the type of pine, fir or spruce, and the country of origin - Danish or Norwegian trees are much more expensive than Ukrainian ones.

The city also lit the main Christmas tree in Odesa on December 6, St. Nicholas Day, with a concert and performance by headliner Mila Nitich.

In addition to Odesa, a Christmas tree was lit on December 6 in Chornomorsk. In Kyiv, the country's main Christmas tree was lit on December 5. It is a 16-meter-high artificial tree decorated in pastel colors. It is decorated with 4.5 thousand toys and is illuminated with garland.
