Odesa District Plans ₴122M Radiation Shelter at Mayakivsky Lyceum

A radiation shelter is planned to be built on the territory of the Mayakivsky Lyceum in Odesa district. They are ready to spend UAH 122 million on the construction.

Information about this appeared on the electronic procurement portal Prozorro.

The tender was announced by the Department of Urban Development, Architecture, Land Management, Ecology, Housing and Communal Property of the Mayakivka Village Council. The expected cost is UAH 122.55 million.

According to the project, the design of the storage facility should provide protection against all hazards, including a nuclear explosion.

According to the technical documentation, it will be possible to stay in the shelter continuously for at least 48 hours, including 12 hours using a filter ventilation system. It will have a medical room, a cafeteria, food warehouses, water tanks and complex, interchangeable life support systems. The children will be able to study and relax.

Proposals from contractors will be accepted until April 3, and on the same day an auction will be held in an open bidding format with special features that provide for shorter deadlines for submitting bids and appeals.

The village of Mayaki is located on the banks of the Dniester River, approximately 40 km from Odesa and 7 km from Bilyaivka. According to the latest data, the population of the village was about 6500 people.

Recently, the Molohivka village council of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district of Odesa region announced a procurement to select a contractor to be paid for the overhaul of the civil defense protective structure of the radiation shelter in Sadove village.

In Kodyma, authorities selected a contractor to repair the basements of the shelter without an auction.

Earlier, Intent wrote that in Dachne, Odesa region, it was planned to build a new radiation shelter in a school that was seriously damaged by the occupiers' missile attacks. The budget for the work was set at more than UAH 117 million.
