The Prymorskyi District Court of Odesa reinstated Larysa Ivanchenkova, the rector of Odesa National Technological University, who was dismissed on August 23, 2024, because she failed a special inspection.

Judge Liudmyla Domuschi ordered the university to compensate the rector for 282,600 hryvnias of unpaid salary, and the Ministry of Education for moral damages in the amount of 30,000 hryvnias, Dumska reports.

The reinstatement is to take place immediately, without waiting for the ruling to come into force. In addition, the rector is obliged to pay a monthly salary of 45 thousand hryvnias.

Prior to that, the court banned the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Odesa National Technological University from taking any actions aimed at holding a competition, preparing and holding elections to fill the position of rector of Odesa National Technological University until the case is considered.

Also last year, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv reinstated Maksym Shyrokov, who was dismissed from his position in July 2023 for negligence, as the head of the Chornomorsk Seaport Authority. This was not the first time Maksym Shyrokov had been reinstated. In November 2020, the Sea Ports Authority appointed new heads of the Pivdennyi and Chornomorsk ports, Oleksandr Basyuk and Maksym Shyrokov.

And in January 2024, Tetiana Papizh , director of the Odesa Regional Bureau of Forensic Medicine, appealed to the Odesa Court of Appeal against the decision of the district court that reinstated her in her position. The court did not satisfy her monetary claims against the Odesa Regional Council.

This case has been going on since January 20, 2023, when Tetiana Papizh appealed to the court to declare illegal and cancel Hryhorii Didenko's order to remove her from her official duties in connection with an internal investigation.
