The Department of Communal Property of Odesa City Council has formed a pool of 116 real estate objects to be leased at auction.

According to Oleksandr Akhmerov, director of the department, 73 properties are ready for auctions, and another 43 are in the final stages of preparation, during a meeting of the standing committee on municipal property, economic, investment, state regulatory policy and entrepreneurship.

According to the Director of the Department, budget revenues from real estate leases reached UAH 130 million in 2024, which is a record high for the last three years.

Mr. Akhmerov also boasted that the privatization process is moving quickly in the city, but it has slowed down after the city center entered the UNESCO protection zone. Now, additional approvals are required for the privatization of such objects.

According to the department, in 2023 the city received UAH 45 million from privatization, and in 2025 it is expected to receive UAH 25 million. In 2025, 26 objects are scheduled for privatization in Odesa, 15 of which are located in the UNESCO protection zone, and the rest are planned to be put up for auction in the near future.

Preparations for the session are currently underway. In particular, meetings of permanent deputy commissions are taking place to consider issues that may be submitted to deputies for consideration at the session, and Intent monitors these meetings.

There are 12 standing committees in Odesa city council, but as of February 22, 2025, the standing committee on culture, tourism and international relations and the standing committee on regulations, deputy ethics and corruption prevention cannot make decisions, as they currently have less than three deputies.
