In order to strengthen the energy security of the Ochakivska urban territorial community, local authorities have announced a project to install cogeneration units. It is planned to raise almost 5 million euros for the project.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the DREAM ecosystem.

The project will install four cogeneration units with a capacity of 1 MW each. These units are designed to operate in partial load mode, providing a reliable alternative to the grid infrastructure, whose limited capacity has already led to emergency power outages.

With the deployment of these cogeneration units, the community expects to see a significant improvement in energy security while reducing overall energy costs.

The initiative is part of the Ochakiv Community Restoration and Development Plan until 2027, which was approved by the Ochakiv City Council on July 25, 2023.

The cogeneration facilities will be strategically located in the villages of Kutsurubka, Ochakiv and Chornomorsk.

The project is a joint development of the Ochakiv City Council, which is the initiator, and the utility company Ochakiv-Service, which is both the executor and the customer. In addition, Synapse Project Management, which is the official representative of 2G Energy AG from Germany, plays a key role in the project implementation. According to the company's terms, the turnkey project will cost 4 million 978 thousand 432 euros.

It is also planned to install seven cogeneration units at the facilities ofMykolaivoblteploenergo with the involvement of almost one and a half billion hryvnias. This will provide heat supply to about 100,000 consumers, residents of multi-storey buildings, as well as 130 social institutions, including 16 medical institutions, schools, kindergartens, sports schools and municipal social centers.

In addition, the company plans to build a modern wind power plant on the site. This will involve over UAH 800 million. The project envisages the creation of a 12 MW wind farm, where six modern wind turbines will be installed, each with a capacity of 2 MW, which will generate 12 MW of clean energy in total. This technical solution will enable efficient electricity generation while minimizing the negative impact on the environment.
