In Kherson region, proceedings have been initiated over the death and injuries caused by shelling in the region.
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The post states that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, pre-trial investigations have been initiated in criminal proceedings on violations of the laws and customs of war (Part 1, 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, on October 23, 2024, the Russian military fired artillery and UAVs at settlements in Kherson region. As a result of the shelling in the village of Lviv, a 66-year-old woman sustained life-threatening injuries. It happened around 08:00 am, when she was outside when the artillery shell exploded. Also, at 11 o'clock, the village of Inzhenerne was shelled. A 19-year-old local resident was taken to the hospital with injuries. At 11:25, the occupants dropped explosives from a drone in Bilozerka. Two civilians, aged 64 and 46, who were on the street, were injured.
The press service of the Kherson Regional Military Administration also reported that a 59-year-old nurse who was near a store in Bilozerka was injured in Bilozerka as a result of the drone explosion. She suffered an explosive injury, shrapnel wounds to her head and arm. Also, the enemy attacked a civilian car in Tomyna Balka with a UAV, causing a 48-year-old woman to sustain an explosive injury, wounds to her face, arm and leg. In addition, the occupants attacked a public transport stop in the Dniprovsky district of Kherson with a UAV. A 64-year-old woman sustained explosive trauma and shrapnel wounds to her arms and legs as a result of the drone's explosive drop. The victim was hospitalized.
Earlier it was reported that on October 22, 2024, the Russian occupiers fired artillery and mortar weapons at the settlements of the Kherson region. They also used various types of unmanned aerial vehicles.
