The auction for the sale of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Commercial Sea Port, scheduled by the Regional Office of the State Property Fund of Ukraine in Odesa and Mykolaiv regions for September 16, did not take place.

As stated in the bidding protocol, the reason was the lack of bidders.

The starting price was halved from UAH 177 million 972 thousand 492 to UAH 88 million 986 thousand 246, and the auction scheduled for September 6 was not held due to the lack of participants. Under the terms of the auction, the buyer is also required to pay off wage and budget arrears and pay VAT of 20% of the final value of the property. As of September 30, 2023, this total debt amounted to UAH 105.5 million.

According to its charter, the main activity of the state enterprise Belgorod-Dniester Commercial Sea Port is auxiliary water transport services. The company specializes in transshipment of timber cargo, mineral fertilizers, iron ore pellets, metal products and grain cargo. Vessels can enter the port through the approach channel of the offshore part of the Dniester-Tsarhorod estuary, which is 1.5 kilometers long and the Dniester-Liman part, which is 14.5 kilometers long; the depth of the approach channel is 3 meters (3.5-4.5 meters according to the passport).

The unified property complex is located on the territory of 64.4 hectares in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi and Zatoka. The port also includes nine vessels, four diesel locomotives, 18 portal cranes, 47 vehicles, etc.

Currently, the SPFU has put the port up for auction again, scheduled for September 24 with the same starting price as on September 16.

The State Property Fund has previously put up for privatization the single property complex of the State Enterprise "Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Commercial Sea Port" seven times. However, there have been no takers so far.

In February 2024, the SPFU met with representatives of the South Korean corporation Ssang Yong. They discussed the possibility of privatizing the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi port.
