Negligence of an engineer led to the loss of a million during the reconstruction of a kindergarten in Kherson region

A technical supervision engineer was accused of negligence during the reconstruction of a kindergarten in Kherson region. This led to the loss of more than a million hryvnias from the local budget.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

A technical supervision engineer is accused of negligence, which caused the local budget to suffer losses of more than a million hryvnias during the reconstruction of a kindergarten in the region.

Law enforcement officers found that in the period from 2019 to 2020, the suspect failed to perform the necessary inspections and control over the reconstruction of the kindergarten in the Muzykivska community. Despite this, he signed certificates of completion that did not reflect the actual state of the work performed. As a result, more than UAH 1 million was unlawfully transferred from the local budget to the contractor.

The Oleshky District Prosecutor's Office sent an indictment to the court against the engineer, who is accused of improper performance of his duties under Article 367(2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The case was investigated by investigators of the Kherson District Police Department, and operational support was provided by the Security Service of Ukraine in Kherson region. The press service noted that according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.

In Mykolaiv region, law enforcement officers are investigating possible corruption during the repair of the roof of Novodessk Lyceum No. 1. The amount of work is more than UAH 4 million, and there are suspicions of overstating the volume and cost of materials.

A businesswoman from Mykolaiv region was also accused of negligence for improperly controlling the school's overhaul, which led to the misappropriation of local budget funds. The court sentenced her to probation for two years and a fine.
