The Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in Mykolaiv region has announced a tender worth UAH 70.3 million. For these funds, the contractor must apply horizontal road markings on national roads.

The information was published on the Prozorro e-procurement portal.

As part of the project, it is planned to organize traffic on the roads by applying different types of lines with paint using special marking equipment. The total amount of markings is more than 2.6 million running meters and almost 13 thousand square meters. In addition to applying the markings, the old ones will be demarcated.

The tender documents state that the warranty period for the markings' durability is at least 6 months after acceptance of the work. The contractor must complete all work by November 20, 2026.

Applications will be accepted until May 13, and the next day the auction will be held in an open bidding format with special features, which means a short time frame and, most likely, no competition.

Since the start of the full-scale war, billions of hryvnias have been spent on road maintenance and repair in the Mykolaiv region, with most tenders won by the same companies without proper competition. Procurement was often subject to audits by auditors, as some procurements were conducted with violations.

In 2024, funding for road repairs in Mykolaiv decreased to UAH 240 million, which is half as much as last year. Most of these funds were used by three large contractors, who effectively divided the market among themselves, eliminating competition in tenders. This creates opportunities for inflating prices for construction materials and avoiding proper control over the quality of work performed.
