The State Bureau of Investigation neutralized a corruption scheme in one of the district military enlistment offices in Mykolaiv region. Officials of the institution organized a mechanism for illegally writing off persons liable for military service from the military register, helping men avoid mobilization by falsifying documents.
This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation.
According to the investigation, an employee of the district TCC carried out unauthorized interference in the work of the electronic register "Oberih". Using his official access, he falsely declared men unfit for service for health reasons, without having any conclusions from the military medical commission or supporting medical documents. The cost of such a "write-off" from the military register was about 10 thousand US dollars per client.
Law enforcement officers have already identified some of the people who benefited from this scheme: the unlawful records of their unfitness have been canceled, so now these men are subject to mobilization on a general basis. The offender has been served a notice of suspicion of unauthorized change of information in automated systems (Part 1 Art. 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
At this stage, the issue of suspending the suspect from office and choosing a measure of restraint is being decided. Investigative actions are ongoing to identify all accomplices and the full list of 'evaders' who managed to pay for illegal services. The Mykolaiv Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office is conducting procedural supervision in the case.
Earlier, the SBI exposed doctors of the Odesa territorial recruitment center who were massively issuing false conclusions of the military medical commission without the presence of recruits. Law enforcement officers identified all the participants in the scheme and served notices of suspicion to members of the freelance commission of the MEC of the Primorsky RTC and Odesa SP.
