In Donetsk region, a Mykolaiv paratrooper hit an enemy tank from a distance of two kilometers.

This was reported by Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Butusov.

A soldier of the 79th separate airborne assault brigade with an American FGM-148 Javelin ATGM hits Russian armored vehicles at a distance of 2 km. The village of Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region," the statement reads.

The artillerymen of the 79th Tauride Air Assault Brigade have also quickly mastered one of the most mobile artillery systems in the world - the light British 105-mm howitzer L-119.

According to the Tauride paratroopers, this gun is significantly different from Soviet counterparts, such as the D-30. Speaking about the range, the military notes that the British L-119 has a slightly shorter range of up to 12 km compared to the D-30. However, due to its accuracy, it remains more effective on the battlefield.

In addition, in Mykolaiv region, the Security Service of Ukraine has equipped its Sea Baby maritime drones with Grad systems. They have recently passed effective tests in combat against Russian positions on the Kinburn Spit.

Recently, Senior Seaman Pavlo Malofeyenko from the second battalion of the Mykolaiv-based 36th Separate Marine Brigade was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. The soldier was killed on January 30, 2023, while performing a combat mission.

Mykolaiv marines also participated in the London Marathon to draw public attention to the war in Ukraine. A soldier of the 36th separate marine brigade, Heorhiy Roshka, together with his comrade Oleksiy Rudenko, took part in the London marathon to draw attention to Russia's war against Ukraine, raise funds for the restoration of Ukrainian defenders and remind that their comrades are still in Russian captivity.

On the occasion of the Day of the Ukrainian Marine Corps, Brigadier Mykyta Vitek, 36th Brigade, congratulated Mykolaiv soldiers on the holiday. According to him, the marines are always about offensive and active assault operations. But, as the brigadier notes, there are also losses, and he emphasizes that the feat of the fallen soldiers will forever remain in the hearts of their comrades.
