Mykolaiv found a repairer for Varvarovskyi Bridge for 57 million, but there is a nuance

The Mykolaiv Oblast Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service has awarded the repair of the Varvarovsky Bridge over the Pivdennyi Buh River to the only bidder, European Road Construction Company LLC. The contract is worth UAH 57 million. The State Audit Service became interested in the tender.

The procurement was conducted in the format of open bidding with features that provide for shorter terms than before. Since only one bidder applied for the tender, the Recovery Service did not have to choose the cheapest bidder. The agreement was signed on September 18 with European Road Construction Company LLC.

The works are financed from the state budget. The company is to receive UAH 57 million 104 thousand for the operational maintenance of the Pivdenobuzkyi (Varvarovskyi) bridge over the river at km 132+391 of the public road of national importance M-14 Odesa-Melitopol-Novoazovsk in Mykolaiv region.

By the end of December 2025, the contractor must remove the existing pavement and sidewalk base, mill and dismantle the road surface on the approaches to the bridge and the bridge itself, replace the barrier and railing fencing, install new expansion joints, curbs and drainage ladders, as well as lay new asphalt concrete layers and restore concrete surfaces.

In addition, the contractor is obliged to install new lighting poles and reinforced concrete structures with corrosion protection. It is also necessary to repair damage to the subgrade, restore engineering structures, solve problems with erosion, and strengthen the banks around the bridge. During the repairs, temporary signs, markings and traffic control devices must be installed.

It is worth noting that the State Audit Service has taken an interest in this tender and is currently checking it for possible violations.

Recently, the Mykolaiv region planned to spend more than 500 million from the budget on the overhaul of a bridge on the highway.
