Mykolaiv Vodokanal has announced a tender for ice removal services. Almost three million hryvnias have been allocated from the city budget for this purpose.

This is evidenced by the data of the electronic public procurement system Prozorro.

The tender was announced for mechanized road de-icing after emergency repair work on water supply and sewerage networks in Mykolaiv.

The works were commissioned by Mykolaivvodokanal, a utility company. The auction is scheduled for January 15, 2025.

The expected value of the procurement is UAH 2 million 738 thousand 742. The minimum price reduction step is UAH 27 thousand 387, or 1 percent of the expected amount. The works should be completed by December 31, 2025. No bid security is required.

According to the tender documentation, the selected contractor has the right to engage a subcontractor, who will have to pay at least 20 percent of the value of the procurement contract. He must also provide a certificate of experience in performing similar work. In turn, the client is obliged to pay in full for the services performed and to eliminate all water supply system breakdowns before the contractor provides services.

The contractor must have a vehicle for spreading de-icing materials to perform the work. The contractor shall be responsible for loading de-icing materials and being on duty during winter road maintenance. The consumption of technical salt shall be 30 grams per 1 m2. Payment will be made within three days after acceptance of the work. Services are to be provided around the clock, including weekends and holidays.

Mykolaiv recently signed an agreement for the preparation of design and estimate documentation for the construction of a shelter at the regional oncology center. The contract was awarded to a newly created company that earned several million in public procurement in 2024.

Mykolaiv also signed a contract for the supply of electricity for outdoor lighting with a company that has earned more than seven billion hryvnias in tenders over the past seven years. The head of the company has recently been investigated in a large-scale corruption scheme.
