150 identical monuments with national flags are planned to be installed in Mykolaiv on the graves of the fallen defenders of Ukraine. The Mykolaiv Funeral Service municipal enterprise is looking for a contractor to carry out these works.

This is evidenced by data from the electronic public procurement system Prozorro.

The expected cost of the procurement is UAH 4.4 million. By December 20, 2025, the contractor, who will be selected at an auction on September 26, must manufacture and deliver the monuments with tombstones and pedestals. Each memorial will be engraved with a portrait, name and date of life of the deceased, as well as an artwork or a full-length photo.

The issue of honoring the memory of the fallen defenders is also being considered in other cities of Mykolaiv region. For example, Pivdenoukrainsk has already installed a memorial stele on the Walk of Fame at the city cemetery and plans to install 20 more memorial signs. In Bashtanka, a new cemetery will be built with a separate section for military burials. Meanwhile, in Pervomaisk, the families of the victims proposed to create an 'Alley of Glory' in the city center. In addition, an "Alley of Glory" will also be created at the city cemetery in Balovne, Mykolaiv, to bury the soldiers who gave their lives for the country's independence.

Earlier, the executive committee of the Izmail City Council decided at a meeting on May 28 to amend the city's social support program for defenders for 2025.

The reason for the adjustments is "the implementation of measures to perpetuate the memory of the fallen soldiers, taking into account the proposal of the families of the fallen." This includes the construction of a "people's" memorial on Victory Square and the inclusion in this year's program of a part of the funds for the construction of a capital structure in the northern part of the square - the Walk of Fame - in the amount of UAH 5 million.
