The Education Department of the Safianivka Village Council has signed contracts to develop design estimates for the modernization of canteens at the Bahatian secondary school and Safianivka lyceum in Izmail district, Odesa region.
The relevant information was published on the public procurement platform Prozorro.
The projects provide for a comprehensive renovation of the canteens. In particular, the documentation should take into account the strengthening of supporting and enclosing structures, complete replacement of water supply and sewage systems, installation of electric water heaters, modernization of electricity, ventilation and heating. In addition, it is planned to completely upgrade the technological equipment in the kitchens and canteens.
The canteens of both schools will be equipped according to the "basic kitchen" catering model, which involves cooking directly at the school.
The Bahatian educational institution is designed to accommodate 112 students at a time. UAH 510 thousand has been allocated from the local budget for the development of project documentation for this facility.
Safianivka Lyceum, in turn, can accommodate up to 230 students at a time. The cost of designing the modernization of its canteen is UAH 491 thousand.
The winner of both tenders was Petra Zamfirova's Odesa-based Auditconsult LTD. The contractor must complete the development of design and estimate documentation for both facilities by May 31, 2026.
Odesa also received a contract to adjust the design estimates for the overhaul of the catering department of Artsyzka kindergarten No. 4 "Sonechko".
Earlier, in January 2025, a similar project was already implemented in the Safianivka community. A modernized school canteen based on the "basic kitchen" model was opened at the Ozernianskyi lyceum. The project worth 15 million hryvnias was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and co-financed by the local budget.
In 2026, the state has provided UAH 1 billion in subventions for the modernization of school canteens. Communities applied for participation in the program until mid-January, and on March 4, a special commission began selecting investment projects.
At the same time, the renovation of the canteen at school No. 7 in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi came under the attention of law enforcement. Investigators suspect that the volume and cost of materials in the documents may have been overstated during the work and that part of the budget funds may have been diverted into the shadows.
