Law enforcers searched the premises of a Mykolaiv utility company in a case of possible embezzlement of budget funds. Investigators believe that officials may have facilitated the victory of their companies in tenders, including a company associated with a defendant in other corruption cases.

This was reported by MikVisti with reference to the court verdict.

Law enforcement officers conducted searches at the Mykolaivvodokanal utility company on suspicion of embezzlement of budget funds when concluding energy service contracts for water supply facilities.

As stated in the ruling of the Vitovsky District Court of May 13, the investigative actions were carried out within the framework of a criminal investigation into the misappropriation of property in particularly large amounts in wartime (Part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code). According to the investigation, officials of the utility company may have contributed to the victory of Promsila LLC in tenders for the maintenance of pumping stations and sewage treatment plants.

According to YouControl, the company is owned by Mykhailo Dobrushkin, who also heads another company involved in the case, Svetolux-Nikolaev.

The search at Mykolaivvodokanal was conducted on May 1, and documents with signs of material evidence were seized and arrested. On the same day, searches were conducted at Mykolaivoblenergo as part of an investigation into possible embezzlement of funds for the reconstruction of power grids.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine established that officials of the self-supporting construction mechanization section of the municipal enterprise acted in collusion with representatives of the private firm Promenergosnab and organized a scheme to overstate the cost of lighting equipment supplied for the needs of the city. For this purpose, they used intermediary companies through which they made purchases at inflated prices, which allowed them to withdraw and misappropriate budget funds.

In addition, according to the ruling of the Zhovtnevyi District Court of Mykolaiv Region, the investigator filed a motion to seize the property of the head of SEES. He is suspected of misappropriating more than UAH 500,000 from the local budget, allegedly in collusion with a representative of one of the city's utility companies.
