Kuchurhany Village Seeks New Flag Design to Reject Aggressor Colors

The village of Kuchurhany, Odesa region, is looking for ideas for the design of a new flag that does not repeat the national colors of the aggressor country.

The Lyman Village Council has already canceled the decision of June 15, 2010, "On the Symbols of Kuchurhany Village."

This was preceded by an appeal from the deputies of the Lyman village council to the head of the council , Viktor Baklanov.

"In connection with the Russian-Ukrainian war, we ask you to consider canceling the decision "On the Symbols of Kuchurgan Village"... Since the flag of Kuchurgan village repeats the order and colors of the flag of the aggressor country, the Russian Federation, under which our Heroes and civilians of Ukraine are being killed today. This is morally and ethically unacceptable!" - the appeal reads.

In Bilyayivka, the former Moskovska Street was named in honor of Kharkiv, the hero city of Ukraine.

In February, the Zakharivka village council of Rozdilnyansky district, Odesa region, decided to decommunize Valentyna Tereshkova Street in the village of Balashove.

In September 2021, the Commission on the Naming (Renaming) of Streets, Other Objects, and Installed Memorials of the Fontanka Village Council decided to rename Tereshkova Street in the villages of Fontanka, Kryzhanivka, and Nova Dofinivka.

On September 10, 2021, public hearings were held in the meeting room of the Reniia City Council of Odesa Oblast on the renaming of streets and lanes in the community's settlements. Proposals to rename six streets in the city of Reni, two streets and one lane in the village of Dolynske, and one street in the village of Kotlovyna were presented to the public.
