Three employees of the occupation migration service in Kherson region will be tried. They facilitated the receipt of Russian passports
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The report states that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, indictments were sent to court against three residents of Kherson on the fact of voluntarily holding positions in an illegal law enforcement agency (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that in the summer of 2022, the defendants agreed to cooperate with the enemy and took up positions in the illegally created "Department of the Federal Migration Service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kherson Region". All three became the so-called "acting specialists of the passport and visa service department" in the "public security department", "passport and visa service of the Suvorov and Dnipro city police departments". In their pseudo-posts, they issued "address certificates" to residents of Kherson region for further obtaining a Russian passport; translated citizens' documents from Ukrainian into Russian; and conducted the procedure for identifying people who had lost their documents.
The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SBU in Kherson region.
Earlier it was reported that the "deputy head" of the occupation government, who represented the seized Kherson region at economic forums in Russia, was served a notice of suspicion. According to the investigation, in March 2023, the 68-year-old suspect voluntarily took the illegal position of "first deputy head of the Genichesk Military-Civilian Administration". In the summer of the same year, he became the so-called "Deputy Head of the Government of the Kherson Region".
It was also said that the investigation against the so-called "head" of the occupation ministry's department had been completed.
