Kherson resident publicly justified armed aggression against Ukraine

A resident of Kherson region was suspected of publicly justifying Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The post says that under the procedural guidance of the Oleshky District Prosecutor's Office, the resident of the region was served a notice of suspicion of justifying Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine (Part 1 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in August 2022, the suspect, being in the then-occupied Bilozerka, took part in the celebration of the so-called "Russian Flag Day", which was celebrated on the central square. During the event, the woman gave an interview to journalists controlled by the occupation authorities, in which she justified and recognized the legitimacy of the temporary occupation of part of Ukraine, and expressed her commitment to the aggressor country.

The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the National Police in Kherson region.

Earlier it was reported that based on the SBU materials, Asan Aliyev, a resident of Novooleksiyivka village, Henichesk district, Kherson region, was sentenced in absentia to 10 years in prison. The investigation proved that in May 2022, Aliyev supported the racists and became the so-called "head of the Novoalekseevskoye territorial administration of the Genichesk Military District Administration". According to witnesses, it was Aliyev who removed the Ukrainian flag from the local administrative building and installed another one of the terrorist country.

It was also said that the general producer of the occupation media holding TRK Krym, which promotes war and justifies the occupation of Ukraine, would be tried. The investigation established that since 2014, the accused, as a correspondent of the propaganda TV company NTV, in order to influence the minds of Crimean residents, created and disseminated pro-Russian content materials that are an integral part of Russia's domestic political strategy in the occupied territories.
