Kherson resident organizes arson attack on Ukrainian military vehicles in southern Ukraine

In Kherson region, police together with the SBU detained a group of people who, on the instructions of Russian special services, were burning military vehicles.

This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

The report says that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, three people involved in a series of arson attacks on vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and representatives of other Ukrainian defense forces in several regions of Ukraine were exposed and notified of suspicion.

They are charged with obstructing the legitimate activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations during a special period, committed by prior conspiracy of a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the native of Henichesk was in contact with a currently unidentified person and organized the execution of his "orders" aimed at destroying the cars of Ukrainian defenders. He involved his partner and two of his acquaintances in the illegal activity. It is noted that the defendants received money for each completed "task". They prepared for the crimes carefully and committed them at night. First, they scouted the locations of potential targets, and then committed arsons and recorded them on a mini-video camera.

Law enforcement documented the facts of arson attacks on at least five cars in Kherson, Mykolaiv and Odesa.

During the searches, the law enforcement seized arson tools, mobile phones, SIM cards, flash drives, video recorders, as well as weapons and ammunition. The suspects are currently in custody.

The operation was carried out by prosecutors jointly with the SBU in Kherson, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions and the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kherson region.
