Kherson Resident Indicted for Collaboration with Occupiers' "United Russia" Party

Under the procedural supervision of the Kherson Regional and Genichesk District Prosecutor's Offices, an indictment against a resident of the region on the fact of collaboration was sent to court.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation established that in September 2023, the 40-year-old accused voluntarily submitted his candidacy and was elected as a so-called "deputy of the council of deputies of the Novotroitsk municipal district of the first convocation" from the occupation party "United Russia". Later, the man headed the illegal "council of deputies".

In his pseudo-position, he led the "authority", conducted "sessions", signed meeting minutes, managed the budget for the maintenance of the "council", etc.

The defendant registered the illegal authority in the state register of legal entities of the Russian Federation. He also controlled the placement of approved legal acts in the occupier-controlled media, which residents of the occupied territory are forced to comply with.

Earlier, the court found guilty a Russian citizen who in July 2022 took the position of the so-called "head of the Kalanchak district military administration" in Skadovsk district. In this position, the occupant contributed to the establishment of the Russian language. With the support of prosecutors from the Skadovsk District Prosecutor's Office, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Another Russian was also served a notice of suspicion in absence, who in March 2023 was appointed the so-called "head of the government of the Kherson region," an occupation body created by the invaders. In this position, he organized the work of the pseudo-government, appointed "deputy ministers" and other representatives of the illegal administration. The suspect signed documents, issued resolutions and orders, and supervised their implementation.

Intent also reported that in the summer of 2022, a native of the Tyumen region of the Russian Federation became the head of one of the occupiers' departments. In July 2022, the Russian arrived in the temporarily occupied Kherson and headed the "Migration Department of the Kherson Regional Ministry of Internal Affairs" created by the occupation administration. Under his leadership, the illegal "department" was engaged in the forced "passportization" of Ukrainian citizens.
