The occupiers continue to terrorize Kherson region. Yesterday, an Ukrposhta vehicle heading to Stanislav came under fire, and this morning the sorting center in Kherson was attacked.
This was reported by Igor Smelyansky, CEO of Ukrposhta.
According to him, Stanislav is a small town on the front line where only Ukrposhta operates. The enemy regularly attacks civilian objects. In the summer, the post office there was already destroyed by phosphorus shells, but the Ukrposhta team resumed its work.
This time, the occupiers burned the vehicle. The driver was seriously injured, but thanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the head of the local branch, he was saved. The evacuation was complicated by enemy aerial reconnaissance - the occupiers' drones hovered over the site for hours.
Despite the shelling, Ukrposhta continues to operate in Kherson region, helping people in frontline cities.
On the night of February 20, Kherson was shaken by a powerful explosion - a Russian guided aerial bomb hit a ten-story building.
The strike completely destroyed 15 apartments in the building - from the first to the tenth floor. Windows in 80 other apartments were smashed.
So far, six people have been reported injured. Rescuers pulled two people from the rubble from the 8th and 9th floors.
Among those hospitalized are 14-year-old twins, a boy and a girl. Doctors assess their condition as satisfactory. Also hospitalized is a 47-year-old man who sustained shrapnel wounds and a broken leg.
The three victims were treated on the spot. They have contusions, and one has a head injury.
The operational headquarters of the Kherson Regional Military Administration is working at the scene. About 120 people and 35 pieces of equipment, including rescuers, police, doctors, utility workers and volunteers, are involved in the aftermath.
The press service of the JFO added that over the past day, the Russian military shelled and carried out air strikes on 38 settlements in the Kherson region, including Kherson. Antonivka, Komyshany, Pryozerne, Bilozerka, Romashkove, Veletenske, Nezlamne, Dniprovske, Kizomys, Stanislav and others came under enemy fire.
