A member of an illegal armed group of the Donetsk People's Republic was served a notice of suspicion in absence for torturing a resident of Kherson region and threatening to kill his newborn child. The woman participated in repressions in the occupied territory, used physical and psychological violence.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Law enforcement officers have identified a member of the illegal armed group "DNR" who participated in repressions against civilians in the temporarily occupied Kherson region in the summer of 2022.

According to the investigation, in August 2022, a resident of Donetsk region, together with the Russian military, broke into the house of a local family in one of the settlements of Kherson district.

The owner was forced outside, where the woman began to interrogate him. When she did not receive answers to her questions, she hit him several times in the head with a pistol grip and a grenade-like object. The victim was injured, lost consciousness and began to bleed heavily.

The suspect then went into the room where the victim's wife and two young children were. She put a gun to the newborn's head and threatened to kill and arrest the entire family. The man was later taken to a seized building in the village of Pryozerne, where he was illegally detained and tortured.

The woman was notified in absentia of suspicion of high treason and cruel treatment of civilians (part 2 of Article 111, part 2 of Article 28, part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

Also in Kherson region, a serviceman was served a notice of suspicion for disclosing information about the positions of the Armed Forces and for leaving his unit without permission. In October 2024, he filmed a video on his phone from the screens of online monitors, which showed maps and operational information. The man faces up to 10 years in prison.

In addition, law enforcement officers identified a resident of Crimea who probably took part in hostilities on the side of Russia. He is suspected of aiding terrorists and encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
