Kherson Academic Theater performed in Portugal

The Kherson Regional Academic Music and Drama Theater named after Mykola Kulish represented Ukraine at the MIT - Mostra Internacional de Teatro international theater festival in northern Portugal.

This was reported by the Consulate of Ukraine in Porto on its social media page.

The Kherson theater presented the play "This Damn Bitter Truth" to the Portuguese.

The Consulate of Ukraine in Porto emphasized the importance of Ukrainian artists' participation in international events, especially in times of war, when they convey the truth about Ukraine to the world through art.

Kherson theater continues its work even in shelters, remaining the voice of culture.

In Kherson, on July 21, Russian soldiers shelled the building of the Mykola Kulish Kherson Regional Academic Music and Drama Theater.

Two Kherson directors have been shortlisted for the prestigious Les Kurbas Theater Award for 2025. The list includes 19 nominees in total, including Serhiy Pavliuk and Yevhen Reznichenko, who were recognized for their significant contribution to the development of contemporary theater in Ukraine.

The Kherson Theater has lost a legendary artist - People's Artist of Ukraine Vasyl Chornoshkur has passed away.

In addition to his work in the theater, Vasyl Chornoshkur was a professor at Kherson Pedagogical University, starred in films and TV series, worked as a radio host at Radio Kultura, and became the voice of the famous character Vasyl's grandfather in the radio program Evening Lullaby.

"Vocalist, artist, theater and film actress , photographer," is how Anastasia Bakunova introduces herself, noting that she cannot emphasize any of her artistic activities more.
