International organization provides Kherson region community with drinking water worth 9 million

Thanks to international support, the Kherson region purchased a vehicle for the transportation of drinking water and a purification system. In total, donors donated equipment worth more than nine million hryvnias.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the Dream Digital Recovery Ecosystem.

It is planned to purchase a vehicle for the transportation of drinking water and water treatment systems for the Beryslav community.

The project was initiated by the Beryslav City Council.

The goal of the project is to ensure the transportation and temporary storage of drinking water, the use of autonomous water treatment systems for the population in the event of an accident and water supply interruptions in the community's settlements.

Funding for the purchase of the equipment was provided by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The project has been implemented since October 2024.

According to the agreement, the Executive Committee of the Beryslav City Council, represented by Mr. Oleksandr Alchiev, and the United Nations Development Program, represented by Mr. Christoforos Politis, agreed to transfer international technical assistance.

The project budget is UAH 9 million 276 thousand 352.

The community takes ownership of the supplies and equipment, namely:

The tank is made of food grade stainless steel. The outside is lined with thin-sheet stainless steel. The space between the shells is filled with heat-insulating material. The capacity of the tank is 10 m3.

The Vysokopilsky Village Council also announced a tender with special features to eliminate an emergency situation on a part of the water supply network in the village of Arkhangelskoye, Berislavsky district. The money for the network repair was allocated by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The expected cost of the work is over twenty million hryvnias.

In addition, the Bereslav community plans to create a modern cultural center. More than fifty million hryvnias are planned to be raised for this purpose. It is planned to renovate the Berislav Culture and Leisure Center. According to the project description, the creation of such a cultural center will solve the problem of cultural development and leisure for the residents of the territorial community.

Recently, the municipal non-profit enterprise Regional Hospital for Rehabilitation in Kherson region awarded a contract for the installation of an autonomous power supply to a newcomer without a tender. The agreement was concluded with Voltenergotrans LLC for more than two million to install an autonomous power supply in the hospital.
