An emergency occurred at a school in Odesa—an elementary school teacher fell from a second-floor window while washing the windows. The victim, who sustained serious injuries, was taken to the hospital.
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred at Elementary School No. 53 at 35B Heroiv Krut Street. The 34-year-old teacher was washing windows when she fell from the second floor of the building.
She was taken to City Hospital No. 10. Doctors diagnosed her with open fractures of both lower legs and severe traumatic shock. She is currently under medical supervision, and her condition is considered moderate.
Yulia Filler, director of the Odesa City Council’s Department of Education and Science, confirmed the incident in a statement to Intent.
The Department of Education noted that it will launch an official investigation into the circumstances of the incident. They also promised to provide the injured teacher with all necessary assistance.
“The department received the information from social media. An order to investigate the circumstances is currently being prepared. The teacher will be provided with all necessary assistance,” Yulia Filler said.
Earlier, Intent reported on a tragic incident in the Kyivskyi district of the city—a woman and a small child fell from a 16th-floor window of a high-rise building.
Also in Odesa,a 3-year-old child fell froma fifth-floor window after climbing onto the windowsill and leaning against the screen while her mother was in the kitchen. The girl died before the ambulance arrived.
