The Mykolaiv Funeral Service has selected a contractor for the manufacture and installation of 160 tombstones for defenders who died in the Russian war against Ukraine.
This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations.
The auction was held in the format of open bidding with special conditions on September 20. Since only one participant applied for the tender, the utility company did not have to choose the cheapest bidder. The agreement is about to be signed with private entrepreneur Olga Vasilevich. The contractor must complete all the work by the end of 2024 and receive UAH 4 million 560 thousand for it.
According to the tender documents, the tombstones will be made of gabbro. Each will have a portrait, name, surname, date of birth and death of the deceased, as well as religious symbols. The tombstones must be identical in style, and the artistic elements must be agreed with the relatives of the deceased. Materials must be certified. Tombstones in the amount of 160 pieces should be installed in honorary military sectors.
According to the YouControl service, the individual entrepreneur Vasilevych O.A. was registered in 2007 in Mykolaiv. The main activity is the provision of individual services.
Previously, the sole proprietor was engaged in retail trade in various goods from stalls and markets, as well as cutting, processing and finishing of decorative and construction stone.
It should be noted that Mykolaiv Funeral Service had already announced a similar tender, but the winner was rejected due to an incomplete package of documents.
At a meeting of the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council, two decisions were made regarding the burials of fallen soldiers in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Earlier, the Mykolaiv City Council received numerous complaints from citizens who lost their loved ones in the war that they could not install the monuments themselves and were waiting for the municipalities to do so. But this is not happening.
