Journalist Halyna Yermyshko was notified of suspicion of collaborating with the occupation authorities and spreading propaganda. She headed a newspaper and worked in the press service of the occupation administration.
This is stated in the suspicion of the Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the investigation, in February 2023, Yermyshko headed the pro-Russian publication Kalanchaksky Visnyk, which disseminates propaganda materials in support of the occupation authorities.
The very next month, she voluntarily joined the so-called occupation administration of the Kalanchak municipal district, taking up the position of chief specialist of the press service.
One video published by pro-Russian media claimed that Yermyshko had previously worked for a local newspaper, but was allegedly under pressure from officials and "tried to resist as best she could."
According to media reports, she was born in the Ternopil region. After graduating from college in 1976, she moved to the village of Hornostaivka in Kherson region, where she worked at the district military commissariat and the People's Control Committee. Later, she joined the editorial staff of the local newspaper "Village News".
In 1980, she started working as a journalist at the Pryazovska Pravda newspaper in Henichesk. She graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 1985. From 1988 to 2018, she headed the Kalanchak district newspaper Slava Truda, but lost her position as editor-in-chief after its denationalization.
Yermyshko remained the head of the primary organization of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine at the Slava Truda editorial office, was a member of the Party of Regions and in 2010 was elected a deputy of the Kalanchak village council from this political force. In 2009, she received the Gold Medal of Ukrainian Journalism award, and in 2010, she was awarded the title of Honored Journalist of Ukraine by Presidential decree.
Also, two Crimean media professionals - the editor-in-chief and the coordinator of the publication "Krymska Gazeta. Special Issue" - were notified of suspicion of collaboration and dissemination of materials justifying Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine. The publications of the publication contained interviews with combatants on the side of Russia, official reports of the Russian Ministry of Defense, news about volunteer support for the occupiers and texts that broadcast the narratives of the Kremlin propaganda
