During the occupation of Kherson, a 42-year-old local resident voluntarily agreed to cooperate with the invaders. The woman became the "head of the department" of one of the faculties of the educational institution seized by the occupiers.

According to Chermen Tuskaev, deputy head of the Kherson Police Investigation Department, law enforcement officers found that after the occupation of the regional center, the illegally created local authorities seized Kherson National Technical University. On its basis, the occupiers created a "state-funded educational institution of higher education in the Kherson region, Kherson Technical University." In July 2022, the woman was appointed to the position of "head of the department" of design at the pseudo-university.

The defendant "managed" the work of the department according to the education standards of the aggressor country and organized the educational process exclusively in Russian. She also personally taught courses at the department in the language of the invaders. She also ensured the implementation of curricula and work programs and monitored the quality of teaching disciplines, educational, methodological and scientific activities of the department's teachers in accordance with the state educational standards of the Russian Federation.

After the de-occupation of Kherson and the relocation of the technical base of the seized Ukrainian university to Genichesk, the pseudo-head continued her illegal activities. Investigators classified the criminal actions of the suspect as collaboration. She was served a notice of suspicion in absentia. The pre-trial investigation has now been completed, the indictment against the offender has been approved by the regional prosecutor's office and sent to court. She faces imprisonment for up to three years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of 10 to 15 years.

Earlier, law enforcement officers served a notice of suspicion to a teacher of the Russian-heldKherson Agricultural University who was implementing Russian education standards at the seized university. An educator who implemented Russian education standards at the occupied Kherson National Technical University will also be tried.
