Former secretary of Zatoka village council sentenced to a year in prison for threatening a judge

The Prymorskyi District Court of Odesa found Yurii Cherednychenko, the administrator (secretary) of the executive committee of the Zatoka village council, guilty of threatening to kill a judge.

According to the court' s verdict, the incident occurred in 2020 when Yurii Cherednychenko appealed to the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City District Court to resume consideration of the claim, which the executive committee had previously withdrawn.

It was about recognizing as unlawful the actions of the state registrar in making a decision on state registration of rights to six land plots. The court refused Yuriy Cherednychenko's request, and he broke into the office of Judge Vitaliy Myshko, where the court clerk and assistant judge were also present, and began threatening him with violence. The judge took the threats seriously and called security. <span> </span>

The court secretary stated that Yuriy Cherednichenko said to the judge: "you're a nit", "I'll find you", "I'll kill you", "I'll get you" and "you'll get yours". The council's ex-secretary stated that he did not threaten to bury the words "bury" and "deal with the judge" and that these expressions appeared during the interrogation of the victim. He said the words "I'll deal with it", "I'll deal with you" and "you'll get it from me", meaning that he would get it from the HCJ. He also used the insulting words "you<span> </span>cook" and "nit" against the judge. He does not know whether the judge appealed to the HCJ or the Prosecutor General about the pressure exerted on him or interference in his professional activities. He knows that back in 2017, the secretary of the Zatoka village council wanted to bring the judge to justice, but she was refused to do so, but he appealed to the relevant authorities. <span> </span>

On February 21, the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City District Court granted the prosecutor's request and seized 87 plots with a total area of almost 7 hectares on Vokzalna Street and Zolotyi Bereh Street in Zatoka. Law enforcement officers were investigating the facts of possible illegal alienation of land by officials of the Zatoka village council. To prevent the criminal alienation of recreational land in the first line from the Black Sea, prosecutors filed a motion with the court to seize the land plots.
