According to the prosecutor's office, Denis Belagin, a citizen of Ukraine who served in operational positions in the Security Service of Ukraine and lived in Pryluky from May 2012 to May 2017, is suspected of high treason and spreading pro-Russian propaganda.

According to the investigation, Belagin repeatedly distributed pro-Russian publications. In particular, on September 19, 2024, he liked a material with images of military equipment against the background of the Russian flag with calls to support the so-called special operation in Ukraine, and also distributed posts with calls beginning with the words "That Putin is a fighter" and ending with the words "he is doing everything right."

In addition, not earlier than June 2023, while in the occupied territory of Crimea, Belagin posted a post with a picture of Ramzan Kadyrov, which contained calls for an aggressive war.

Based on the totality of these actions, Denis Belagin is suspected of aiding the aggressor state, spreading calls for aggressive war, overthrowing the constitutional order and other crimes under Articles 111-2, 436, 110 and 109 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
