Financial irregularities worth more than one million hryvnias were found in Vysokopillia, Kherson region, during the restoration of damaged buildings

This was reported by the press service of the Southern Office of the State Audit Service in Kherson Oblast.

They noted that the auditors had completed an audit of certain aspects of the financial and economic activities of the Vysokopil village council. The audit covered the period from January 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.

Based on the results of the audit, the auditors found that during major and routine repairs of residential buildings damaged as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, the local authorities overpaid contractors by more than UAH 1 million.

The State Audit Service sent the Vysokopil Village Council requirements to eliminate the violations and bring the responsible persons to justice.

The audit materials have already been submitted to the Main Department of the National Police in Kherson Oblast. The issue of possible criminal proceedings is currently being decided.

Law enforcement officers also became interested in the repair of the regional rehabilitation hospital in Kherson. They suspect that money may have been paid for work that was not completed. Inspections of the premises showed that the repairs are not complete and the work is still ongoing. The contractor has already received over UAH 22 million.

In addition, law enforcement officers are investigating corruption schemes during the construction of shelters in the Kherson region.

Earlier, Intent wrote that at the end of January, the Kherson Ritual Service held a tender for the expansion of the memorial complex at the Geologists Cemetery in the city. According to the results of the tender, on February 10, a contract for 4.9 million hryvnias was signed with a private entrepreneur from Kherson, Vitaliy Kagalnyak. After that, auditors drew attention to the contract.

Before that, the auditors were interested in a contract worth more than 60 million for the construction of a shelter in one of the lyceums in Kherson region.
