Taking advantage of martial law, the former principal of a school in the regional center, who is also a member of the district council, illegally rewarded her colleagues with half a million hryvnias.
According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, in 2022, the accused, without any legal grounds, issued an order to reward 23 employees of the secondary school for July. The amount of bonuses for several of them was 60 thousand hryvnias. By her actions, the accused caused the embezzlement of local budget funds, causing damage to the Kherson city territorial community in excess of UAH 500 thousand.
Under the procedural supervision of the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office, the indictment against the former director was sent to court on the fact of embezzlement of other people's property by abuse of office under martial law.
Earlier, under the supervision of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, the head of the construction company was notified of suspicion of misappropriation of budget funds and falsification of official documents. She is suspected of embezzling UAH 1.3 million from a shelter project in Kherson. She currently faces up to 8 years in prison.
An accountant of a village council in Kherson region was also notified of suspicion. The investigation found that the 55-year-old accused worked as an accountant in one of the village councils of Kherson district. When calculating bonuses for employees during 2023, the woman increased salaries that did not correspond to the staffing table. In addition, she unreasonably accrued bonuses and surcharges.
During the first 9 months of 2024, the Kherson Regional Prosecutor 's Office approved and sent to court indictments against five criminal groups. The court is considering an indictment against five people who were members of an organized criminal group engaged in drug trafficking in Kherson.
