Eight Civilians Injured in Kherson as russian Forces Shell Settlements

Eight civilians were injured in another hostile shelling in Kherson region.

According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, on March 9, Russian troops fired artillery and mortar shells at Kherson region's settlements, and attacked with UAVs and FPV drones.

"Under the procedural supervision of the Kherson regional prosecutor's office, a pre-trial investigation into the commission of war crimes has been launched," the agency said in a statement.

In Antonivka, five women and one man were injured of varying degrees during the day due to the explosion of shells dropped by the occupiers from a UAV. One of the victims is in hospital in serious condition.

Around 9:00 a.m., a 55-year-old woman was injured as a result of artillery shelling in Kherson. At about 15:00 the enemy dropped a shell on one of the streets of the regional center. An 18-year-old boy was taken to hospital with shrapnel wounds. In addition, private and apartment buildings, warehouses and outbuildings, and vehicles were damaged.

Yesterday, on March 8, the Russian military damaged a multi-storey building and 18 private houses. Three people died and nine others were injured as a result of Russian aggression.

This year, in February, 13 residents of Kherson were killed by Russian shelling, and another 113 people were injured of varying severity.

"In February, there were only three days when we did not write about the killed and wounded residents of our community. And not because there were none. We simply did not know about them at that time," KHMWA said in a statement.

And in January 2025, 16 residents of Kherson were killed in enemy attacks, and another 154 residents were injured.
