On August 22, as a result of a morning terrorist attack by Russian occupation forces, the city experienced power outages.
According to Roman Mrochko, the head of Kherson MVA, critical infrastructure was once again hit. Due to the blackout of other important facilities in the regional center, the water supply pressure has decreased, and trolleybus routes 8, 9, 11, 12 have been shortened to Nezlamnosti Square. Currently, route 4 is temporarily out of service, and 18 trolleybuses are running on other routes on temporarily changed routes. Routes 8 and 9 have five vehicles each, route 11 has two vehicles, and route 12 has six vehicles.
Experts are currently assessing the extent of the damage. Emergency repair work will begin as soon as possible.
Earlier it was reported that on August 15, employees of Khersonelectrotrans carried out emergency repairs of the contact network on Ilyusha Kulyk, Chornomorska, Sretenska and Komkova streets. They also repaired the damage to the overhead line after the shelling on Perekopska Street. In addition, specialists conducted a technical inspection of four units of electric transport. Khersonelectrotrans was forced to reduce the number of trolleybuses on its lines due to damage to rolling stock during the Russian shelling. The company repaired the damage as quickly as possible, but the damaged rolling stock means fewer trolleybuses are running. As early as Sunday, 10 trolleybuses were transporting passengers, and on August 12, 12 trolleybuses were running. On August 13, 15 units of rolling stock were on the line, and on August 15, 18 vehicles.
It was also said that route 12 is now one of the most popular among Kherson residents. In July, the number of passengers on this route increased significantly. Due to the reduction of rolling stock, the intervals were increased by 4 minutes, which creates some inconvenience.
