A new radiation shelter is planned to be built in Odesa region in a school that was seriously damaged by the occupiers' missile attacks. The budget for the work was set at over UAH 117 million.
According to the Center for Public Investigations, the customer for the work was the department for the maintenance of municipal property of the Dachna village council.
According to the tender documentation, the modern radiation shelter will be located on the territory of Lyceum No. 2 in the village of Dachne, Odesa district. This is a concrete structure that can accommodate up to 650 people. The shelter will provide protection against all hazards, including the consequences of a nuclear explosion. The expected cost of construction is UAH 117 million 745 thousand.

Participants can submit proposals until October 17, and the next day the winner will be selected in an open bidding format with features that provide for shorter deadlines than before.
According to the technical documentation, people will be able to stay in the shelter continuously for at least 48 hours, including 12 hours in filter ventilation mode. The building will be equipped with a medical room, a cafeteria, water tanks, food warehouses and backup life support systems. In addition, conditions for children's education and recreation will be organized there.
On July 19, 2022, the Russian military struck Dachne near Odesa. Six of the seven missiles fired hit the village, and civilian objects, including a school, were damaged.
Intent watched the process of restoring the lyceum. After the strike, all 28 classrooms of the school were damaged by missile fragments or blast waves. All the windows and doors of the building were destroyed, cracks appeared on the walls in some places, and the ceiling fell down.
In addition, the village of Dachne in Odesa region has signed a contract for partial repairs of the school. The total value of the contract is almost one million hryvnias. The decision was made to engage the newly created company without a tender, and therefore without competition.
