A former computer science teacher from Beryslav became a defendant in a case of collaboration. She produced illegal products for the Russians in the occupied Kherson region and was sentenced to 10 years in prison for this.

The relevant verdict was announced by the Novovorontsov District Court, the Center for Investigative Journalism writes.

According to the case file, Tamara Miroshnychenko, a native of Volnovakha district of Donetsk region and a resident of Beryslav, headed the so-called occupation territorial election commission in Hornostaivka in May 2023 with a five-year term of office.

She was responsible for holding illegal elections to the occupation "council of municipal deputies" of Hornostaivka and the so-called Kherson Regional Council, which took place in September 2023.

According to eyewitnesses, before the war, Tamara worked as a computer science teacher at a local school.

According to the CHR, she also headed a school illegally created by the occupiers on the basis of the seized Beryslav hub institution of complete general secondary education.

However, the occupiers did not even plan to open this "school" - it was looted. According to rumors, the furniture and equipment stolen from the educational institution were taken to the Pskov region of the Russian Federation, which the Russians have designated as the supervisory region for the Beryslav district of Kherson region.

The court found Tamara Miroshnychenko guilty under Part 5 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine(collaboration) and sentenced her in absentia to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.

In addition, she was deprived of the right to hold any positions in government and to participate in elections and referendums for 15 years after serving the main sentence.

It also became known that in Kherson, the court changed the charges against a school principal who taught children according to Russian Federation standards. The charge of treason was changed to aiding the aggressor state and he was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
