A new commission has been established in Kherson community to accept applications from Kherson residents for compensation for damaged or destroyed housing.

This was reported by the Kherson City Council.

The activities of the previous commission, which was engaged in the inspection of houses, were canceled by the relevant order. This is a necessary measure due to the risks to the life and health of specialists during the surveys, as the territory of the Kherson community is defined as the area where hostilities are ongoing.

Surveys are conducted, but only in cases where housing is completely destroyed due to shelling.

The newly created commission is responsible for calculating compensation for applications submitted to the Register of Damaged and Destroyed Property. The agenda for the first meeting is currently being prepared.

Residents of the community who have applied for compensation are asked to check notifications in the Diia mobile application.

Forty-one settlements in the Kherson region were affected by enemy shelling. A 35-year-old man was wounded in the attack. He suffered contusion as a result of the explosion, and went to the hospital on his own.

Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, denied the information spread in social media about the alleged landing of enemy subversive reconnaissance groups in Kherson.

Five high-rise buildings, eight private houses, a grain warehouse, an outbuilding and a car were damaged.

The Department of Civil Defense and Defense Work of the Kherson Regional State Administration purchased UAH 5.1 million worth of mesh netting.

Kherson plans to spend UAH 6 million on a project to reconstruct the city's 40-hectare landfill. The contractor must not only develop the documentation but also obtain an environmental opinion by October 2026.
