Roman Matviychuk, the head of one of the neighborhood committees of Kherson's Korabelny district, was killed in Naddnipryanske by a Russian drone attack.

According to the head of the Kherson MVA Roman Mrochko, the Russian military attacked a car with a drone in which 71-year-old Roman Matviychuk was with the driver.

It is noted that he went out of town to help people.

"Roman Matviychuk could have done a lot more useful things for the Kherson community - he had plenty of strength and desire. But a cynical enemy ended his life," Mrochko said.

According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, three people were killed and ten others were wounded by Russian shelling over the past day. The enemy attacked almost 40 localities, including the regional center. Antonivka, Prydniprovske, Molodizhne, Sadove, Pryozerne, Naddnipryanske, Bilozerka, Tomyna Balka, Nadezhdivka, Stanislav, Sofiyivka, Shyroka Balka and others came under fire and air strikes.

The attacks damaged two apartment buildings, four private estates, an outbuilding, agricultural machinery, and several cars.

According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, on January 8, 2025, at about 18:00, the Russian military once again attacked Beryslav using a UAV.

A 27-year-old man who was on the street was killed as a result of the explosive drop.

A pre-trial investigation has been initiated over the commission of a war crime that resulted in the death of a person (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
