Cases of oncological diseases increased in Crimea

In 2025, an increase in the rate of early detection of cancer was recorded in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. This information was published by the local occupation 'Ministry of Health', based on the statistics of the specialized dispensary named after Yefetov.

This was reported by Holos Kryma.

According to the reports of the Russian-controlled structures, 7% more patients were registered with a newly diagnosed disease than in the previous year. The occupational administration traditionally explains such dynamics by the success of preventive medicine, claiming that mass medical examinations and regular medical check-ups have made it possible to detect malignant tumors at early stages more often.

In the overall structure of cancer morbidity on the peninsula, the leading tumors are skin, breast, prostate, and respiratory and colorectal pathologies. The specificity of these diagnoses may indicate complex problems in the region, including environmental factors and the age structure of the population.

It is worth noting that the growth of new case statistics may indicate not only an improvement in diagnosis, but also a deterioration in the overall health of residents under occupation. In addition, the issue of access to further treatment remains acute in the occupied territories, as patients constantly face a shortage of modern medicines and a lack of specialized oncologists.

Earlier, it was reported that doctors in Crimea only respond to critical calls, and residents are advised to get to hospitals on their own. Emergency medical teams have reduced their visits to the peninsula due to a lack of fuel. Hospitals have been instructed to save fuel, and the number of ambulance calls has been drastically reduced.

Now, medics can only respond to the most critical calls - in cases of life-threatening illnesses. In most situations, people are advised to get to hospitals on their own, even if their condition requires urgent care.
